Oh wow, oh my. It's time to look at my beauty favs. I don't really have a ton of money and I go for quality above quantity, so "favs" posts like these will be few and far between. Coincidentally the products I rave about can be used for a really simple makeup routine if you're in a hurry and don't have enough time to put on a full face.
ALSO, tread carefully as there are AFFILIATE LINKS (gasp). Yes, I have gone to the monetizing side and now use ShopSense. I'll try not to abuse it, as I really don't want to become one of those bloggers, but I am a college student and I do crave money and blah blah. If you don't want to click the links because you have a vendetta against affiliates, that's fine. None of these links are sneaky and the names of the products are given so you can Google them. I strive to write complete articles with a ton of information for my readers, so I apologize for the plethora of ShopSense.
Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer
32 USD // Sephora
Quite possibly one of the best concealers I've ever used. I was pairing it with the HD foundation in Ivory. However, I believe the foundation was breaking my face out. The concealer, though, is highly opaque and hasn't broken my face out. I have two very dark scars and it nearly covers them completely. The price is a bit high but the concealer is very concentrated, so the tube will last a long time.
19 USD // Sephora
Tarte Emphaseyes is an inner rim brightener which gives the illusion of bigger eyes. The color is a light, nude color. It is not meant to be noticeable as the purpose is to make your eyes look more "awake". This is a great alternative to a white pencil which sometimes looks too unnatural and is difficult to blend. I know there are cheaper alternatives out there but tarte is all natural and does not hurt my eyes whatsoever. Basically it's perfect for the night after you eat too much catnip.
YSL Liquid Eyeliner Moiré
34 USD // SephoraYSL Liquid Eyeliner is long lasting and the colors are radiant. I bought the steel color as my skin is fairly like and black may have looked too harsh. It takes a few times to master the brush but it's certainly not impossible. I have heard some great things about Stila's applicator, so I may try Stila out and see how I like it!
Benefit They're Real!
23 USD // SephoraA mascara that actually gives curl? That actually give volume? Sounds impossible! I have never had luck with mascara. I've been using a MAC one for years with lackluster results. Benefit's really hits every lash and the volume lasts all day. A downside to the longlasting formula is that's it's difficult to get off at night. However, this isn't a real problem for me. I could care less if I wake up with raccoon eyes. If you want to save some ca$h, I hear Clump Crusher is pretty great.
30 USD // Sephora
Posietint is a liquid cheek and lip stainer. With a soft pink color, the tint makes my face look sunkissed and very fresh. However, I'm really pale and the color shows up easily on me. If you have more color and warmth than a hospital room, this may not work on you. But, being Benefit and being so rad, they have other alternatives such as Benetint and Cha Cha Tint which show up on darker skin. I got this Posietint in a little kit called Feelin' Dandy which is a "pick-me-up" lip and cheek kit. I may write a review on the kit. Who knows, I love opportunities to take pictures of myself.
Amore Pacific Lip Treatment
35 USD // NordstromYeah, it's 35 bucks. But it feels like the gods' sweat, Beyonce's thigh juices, Joseph Gordon Levitt's tears. That's not the best way to describe this lip balm, but it's amazing. It keeps my lips soft and kissable. I put it on top on Poisetint and it looks like a lip gloss. It's great. I know it's expensive, I got it as a gift, but if you have the moolah you should seriously invest in this liquid gold.
